Anti-psychotics

Carrying on from my last blog post.

I had gone to see a psychiatrist based in London Bridge called Dr Stephen Pereira.

He had prescribed me Lamotrigine in an attempt to fix the chemicals in my brain. My mum complained that I was not sleeping, my sleep schedule was completely reversed, I would sleep all day and stay up all night. She asked if he could prescribe a sleeping tablet.

He agreed and gave me a prescription for Olanzapine.

Without realising that this was actually an Anti-psychotic, regularly used to treat Schizophrenia, I went ahead and took it.

Side Effects

Immediately after taking it, my weight increased by 4 stone, I was unable to feel full, my stomach just constantly craved food. I became drowsy during the day and felt awful.

My weight after taking the anti-psychotics on the left, 4 stone heavier than my normal weight.

Having already been deeply depressed, I now looked awful. The last thing I needed.

Please take this as a warning to be very careful before deciding to take anti-psychotics, I believe they all carry similar side effects.

George
